Directions: In order to present yourself as a researcher who is well-educated on their science fair topic, you will need to gain some background information. Add your research to the table below. Be sure to write everything in your own words and cite your sources using bibme.com. You must use at least one book in your research.
  1. 1. Source: Dreier, David Louis. Baseball: how it works. Mankato, Minn.: Capstone Press, 2010. Print.

1. Information:
Aluminum bats are lighter than wood and help get your swing around quicker.

2. Source: Science Fair Project Ideas, Answers, & Tools." Science Fair Project Ideas, Answers, & Tools. N.p., n.d. Web. 23 Jan. 2012. <http://www.sciencebuddies.org/>.

2. Information:
It told me what the experiment was about and what I had to do.

3. Source: "Why Aluminum Bats Can Perform Better than Wood Bats." http://www.kettering.edu/physics/drussell/bats-new/alumwood.html. N.p., n.d. Web. 23 Jan. 2012. <www.kettering.edu/physics/drussell/bats-new/alumwood.htm>.

3. Information:

Aluminum bats are not more powerful the
Ball just leaves the bat at a faster speed.

4. Information:
Tells about why the aluminum bat can hit the ball harder and farther.

Data Analysis

Conclusion

My hypothesis was that the aluminum bat would hit farther than the wooden bat. My results did support my hypothesis. Some patterns and trends that my data shows are the aluminum bat hit the ball around the same distance every time. I think the tests i did went smoothly. I think the tests went smoothly because I did all of my tests with little problems and difficulty's. If i could improve my experiment I would make it so the data was almost all the same so it would have been easier to graph. An interesting future study might involve that the aluminum bat did at one point hit less further than the wooden bat did.
